Cleanliness is Next to Godliness

It Takes Two to Tango
 by Bernie Aua
  • Want to improve your relationship?
  • A healthy body is essential to a great relationship.
  • Consider what Dr. John Gray, an expert in relationships, discovered about nutritional cleansing.

Are you interested in ways of improving your relationship with that special someone? Consider what Dr. John Gray, the world renowned author of Men are from Mars & Women are from Venus, discovered. Dr. Gray is an expert in the field of communication and a certified family therapist. His work centers on helping men and women understand, respect, and appreciate their differences in both personal and professional relationships. He provides practical tools and insights to effectively manage stress and improve relationships. He developed a diet and exercise solution to incorporate nutritional cleansing in order to create the brain chemistry of health, happiness, and lasting romance.

Being an expert on relationships, he is always on the lookout for things that will improve relationships between men and women. When he first discovered nutritional cleansing, he was very impressed with the superior benefits he got from it. "Immediately, it started producing the brain chemistry of health, happiness, and increasing romance - and this is what my field was all about," he said. He discovered that not only does nutritional cleansing help create a healthier body which results in more intimacy and passion, it improves they way our brain functions which in turn affects hormonal balance in our bodies, and that in turn affects our relationships. Liven Up Your Workout
 by Shad Krueger
  • Do you dread your normal workout?
  • Set some realistic goals.
  • If you workout in the evening, try working out in the morning.

Are you finding yourself bored with your workout routine? Are you dreading your normal 30 minutes on the treadmill day after day? Here are some tips to bring your fitness back to life.

Be sure to set reasonable goals for yourself. A goal to lose forty pounds of fat or to gain ten pounds of muscle mass in one month is simply unreasonable. Educate yourself on what is feasible, and then set the goal you want to work towards. Remember to make note of your progress periodically by taking strategically placed body measurements. The numbers on the scale can fluctuate so dramatically on any given day, for numerous reasons, and thus is not an accurate measure of true progress. Pay attention to plateaus and alter your routine to break a barrier when you feel stuck.

It's helpful to allow yourself a day or two of rest and recovery from working out once in awhile. Your body needs to replenish itself and build its muscle fibers even stronger. Contrary to popular belief, the progress of fat burning and building muscle does not happen in the gym, it happens in between your workouts during recovery. Give this process a chance to occur.

Try changing the intensity of your routine. Our bodies respond to variation in intensity, duration, new activity, or even the timing of a workout. If you normally workout in the afternoon, discover how your body responds by spending the first 30 minutes of your morning working up a sweat. Pay attention to your body and when you feel like taking a break, take one. Overtraining can contribute to stress hormones in our bodies, inhibiting fat loss, and preventing muscle development.

Meditate on This

Kids Need Meditation Too
 by Shad Krueger
  • Meditation is not just for adult busy bodies, it's for children as well.
  • Children face pressures of life as they grow up.
  • Meditation can be a helpful tool for children that can stay with them for life.

Meditation is not just for you overly worked, time constrained busy bodies trying to maintain a family life, a work life, and a healthy lifestyle, it's also an excellent tool for our children. As the pressures and the speed of everyday life continue to mount up as we grow from toddler, to child, to adolescent, to teen, to adult, consider giving your child a tool that can be used anywhere at any time. Consider spending 10 minutes a day with your child meditating, teach them a simple meditation and encourage them to practice it. Chances are they will appreciate it over time. A recent 3 month pilot study of children between the age of 11 and 14 diagnosed with ADHD showed significant improvement in attention and behavior, and the children reported feeling less anxiety and stress. They were taught Transcendental Meditation and practiced it 10 minutes twice a day.

There are many way to approach your children with meditation. If they are very young, try laying down with them and softly hum in a consistent tone while you meditate. If they are old enough to follow instructions, try walking them through a guided meditation to help them find a place of alert relaxation in a loving environment. Instruct them to sit or lie down comfortably and to let go of all thoughts and just pay attention to the breath coming into and out of their lungs. Maybe have them repeat a simple, neutral, 1 or 2 syllable word or sound in their mind. You may be giving your child a tool that will stay with them for their entire life.

There are many resources and instructions you can find with a simple search online that can help give your child something truly valuable.

Did You Know?

Did you know that studies show eating a high-carbohydrate, low-protein meal on an empty stomach effects brain chemistry in such a way that it impairs attention, slows reaction times, increases fatigue and sleepiness, and reduces pain sensitivity?

Did you know that if you are lifting weights at a high repetition but your muscles are not fatigued at the end of a set, the weight is likely too little. You need to exercise your muscles to get the benefits you're working for.

Did you know filmmaker David Lynch started a foundation that funds Transcendental Meditation (TM) research and has funded voluntary in-school TM programs for more than 2000 students?
